Spoon has been very busy celebrating the release of their new album, Transference: an appearance on the Tonight Show, secret shows in LA & NYC, in-stores, interviews, photo shoots, etc. They also took the time to live chat with fans and Bob Boilen for NPR Music and a live performance at KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. NPR’s All Things Considered chatted with Britt & Jim, too!
Today, Spoon will perform in the parking lot of Waterloo Records in Austin! They have also announced their US tour which begins in New Orleans, LA and includes their first appearance at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall!

The Love Language visited The Guest Apartment while they were in New York last fall! Check out the video & interview at BaebleMusic.com.
The Rosebuds have a brilliant way of taking us out into the tobacco fields, feeling the drying of the leaves and the crumbly, dusty as a drought would have them be gravel roads and then get us to hear things, to think that some sneaky evil forces were at work and moving in on us, way out here in the middle of nowhere. It was in a setting like this – out where the closest neighbors are between and a half mile and a full mile away, the postman always knocks twice and where the goings on are oftentimes between the ravens, the grasshoppers and the steamy sun – where Robert Johnson was said to have sold his soul to the devil and Howard and Crisp make the backdrop of such a transaction seem possible on “Life Like.”

We just got off the phone with our friends at Partners in Health.
Most of the medical infrastructure in Port-au-Prince is down. Since Partners in Health’s clinics are situated in the surrounding areas and haven’t been damaged, they are mobilizing their resources towards the capital, setting-up field hospitals to treat the injured on the ground. Also, Paul Farmer (the founder of PIH) is at the UN and has access to the best information on where to direct the money… so for the moment if you want to help, we suggest sending funds to:
Please be generous as time is of the essence.

SCORE charity, Oxfam America is also raising funds and rallying their network of supportive musicians to raise funds. Read more at their blog, and donate here.
Again we say, the future looks pretty Mergetastic and Wrestlerific! We think you’ll agree!
Dan Harris, host of ABC Amplified, visited Versus in their NY studio hard at work on their new album! Watch the episode now!

Through the tinted windows of the bus, I could imagine that I was staring out through snow fields instead of the infinite desert.
I was ill-prepared to endure the August heat, which was upwards of 115 degrees. I tried to rest and began to visualize walking among the ruins while pane after pane of beige emptiness passed the window. Suddenly, an interruption; a sign for the lone crossroads between Bagdad and Amman. And just as quickly, it was behind me and I was back to the stillness.
