Apex Manor visits Rolling Stone, covers Wham!

Ross, Adam & Jon of Apex Manor visited the illustrious offices of Rolling Stone to play a few songs and discuss the inspirations (both liquid & otherwise) behind their debut album, The Year of Magical Drinking.

Mac to play solo for Moving Island benefit in Raleigh on Saturday, January 29

On Saturday, January 29 at 3 p. m., Mac McCaughan will play a solo set at Moving Island (804 N. West St.), downtown Raleigh’s new center for emerging arts, empowering technology, and the business of living. The show is part of Buoyancy 2011, a benefit for Moving Island.

The 2011 Buoyancy Benefit, features local bands such as Lonnie Walker, Old Bricks, Schooner, Naps and Heads on Sticks. All fifteen bands are donating time to raise money to kick start the classes and programming that this new alternative education and arts facility plans to provide. Tickets are available at Schoolkids Records, CD Alley, Chaz’s Bull City Records, and online at Brown Paper Tickets.

Destroyer’s Kaputt will be available in stores on January 25, and we thought you might like a sneak-peek at the vinyl “experience.”

The album will be presented on double-LP and features 20 minutes of music exclusive to the vinyl release. The vinyl version also includes a download of the whole album including the bonus music. The vinyl artwork is presented in a gatefold sleeve with lyrics printed in the fold. The cover photo completes the recent trio of iconic Destroyer cover images taken by band member, Ted Bois.

Pre-order Kaputt on dbl-LP or CD now in the Merge store. Archer on the Beach and Bay of Pigs are now out-of-print on LP, but the tracks are available for digital download in the Merge store, as well.
