Those of you who witnessed Mark Eitzel and pianist Marc Capelle at XX Merge can attest to the truth of this Magnet Magazine live review of their Philadelphia show.

Magnet writer Doug Sell describes Mark’s voice perfectly, “He may have the most human voice in rock music. It is all of this at once: sad, defiant, wounded, sentimental, understanding, hopeful, resigned. Big as the biggest adjective and commanded with elegantly flawed grace, Eitzel’s voice can make your ears cry.”

Visit the Merge store for American Music Club albums on CD and digital download, and Eitzel’s blog for information on new recording projects.
