Arcade Fire license “Wake Up” to NFL; 100% of proceeds to benefit Partners in Health

Arcade Fire, Partners in Health, the NFL, Merge Records and Bank Robber Music have collectively agreed upon a unique 100% for charity Super Bowl licensing of “Wake Up” from Arcade Fire’s 2004 album Funeral. All proceeds from the use of the song on the live Superbowl broadcast and subsequent airings on the NFL Network will go directly to Partners In Health’s Stand With Haiti relief efforts.

Help Haiti

From ArcadeFire.com:

Friends,

Haiti needs your help in her darkest hour.

We just got off the phone with our friends at Partners in Health.

Most of the medical infrastructure in Port-au-Prince is down. Since Partners in Health’s clinics are situated in the surrounding areas and haven’t been damaged, they are mobilizing their resources towards the capital, setting-up field hospitals to treat the injured on the ground. Also, Paul Farmer (the founder of PIH) is at the UN and has access to the best information on where to direct the money… so for the moment if you want to help, we suggest sending funds to:

www.pih.org

Please be generous as time is of the essence.

love,

Win and Regine

SCORE charity, Oxfam America is also raising funds and rallying their network of supportive musicians to raise funds. Read more at their blog, and donate here.

Arcade Fire autograph Miroir Noir deluxe DVD + silk screened poster to benefit charity

noir_miroirThe members of Arcade Fire have signed 250 copies of the deluxe edition of the recently released Miroir Noir DVD and combined them with a limited edition hand silk screened poster signed and numbered by the artist for a special package to benefit Partners In Health. The limited signed deluxe DVD with poster will be available exclusively at Arcadefire.com for $250 (plus shipping and handling), with all proceeds benefiting Partners In Health.

Arcade Fire donated a share of ticket sales from every headlining show on the 2007 Neon Bible tour to Partners In Health’s program in Haiti, which focuses on delivering high quality health care to the poor. Members of the band have visited Haiti to witness firsthand the results of these donations, which also include sending thousands of children to school with hot meals, providing housing for the poorest patients, and increasing the agricultural capacity of those families.
