Jonny plays “Gloria” at a clothing store

JONNY is Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) & Euros Childs (Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci). To get to know them better, watch this live video of the duo performing “Gloria” from the Free EP and an interview on BBC 6!

The Jonny CD will be released in stores on April 12, but is available for pre-order now in the Merge store. The CD version will include the four bonus songs from the Free EP and all pre-orders of the CD through the Merge store will receive an immediate download of the entire album including the bonus tracks beginning today.

You can now stream the whole Jonny album in the Merge store, and be sure to check out the video for “Candyfloss,” too! US tour dates will be announced soon!

Teenage Fanclub on Sound Opinions

Teenage Fanclub will be on Sound Opinions, the world’s only Rock and Roll talk show, this weekend!

Teenage Fanclub taped a full-band live performance and interview with hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot while on their US tour in October. Sounds Opinions airs live on public radio stations around the country, and you can hear the audio on the Sound Opinions website now!

Teenage Fanclub in the NY Times!

Teenage Fanclub are finishing up a fantastic week in New York with included two packed shows at the Bowery Ballroom and a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and will conclude with a performance opening for Belle and Sebastian tonight at the Williamsburg Waterfront.

The New York Times ran a feature in today’s paper that includes a special performance by the band of two songs just for the “Popcast.” Read and listen at NYTimes.com.

The Teenage Fanclub tour continues tomorrow in Philadelphia at the Trocadero and will join with Superchunk & Telekinesis in Portland and Seattle before finishing in Vancouver on October 16. Teenage Fanclub’s long-awaited North American tour in support of Shadows will begin September 22 in Toronto! Radar Brothers will join Teenage Fanclub on several dates in support of their latest release The Illustrated Garden.

Teenage Fanclub announce North American tour!

Teenage Fanclub will return North America beginning September 22 to tour in support of their new record, Shadows. While here, the band will also appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on September 28. And lucky fans in Seattle and Portland will get the full Merge treatment of Teenage Fanclub, Superchunk and Telekinesis all in one night!

The brilliance of Shadows, like all the best Teenage Fanclub records, is that it sounds like everything they’ve ever done and like nothing anyone else has ever done, all on one album. It may be a considered and well put-together record, but it has all the spontaneity of Bandwagonesque. It may have a deceptively simple feel, but it’s as polished and intelligent as Grand Prix. And despite the input of others and new ideas, it’s still a record that only the three members of Teenage Fanclub could make.
