Listen to "Saturday's Song", the first from Hiss Golden Messenger's Lateness of Dancers

Listen to

“When Saturday comes I'm going to heal myself / When Saturday comes with the lamb and the four swords / I might get a little crazy / Here comes Sunday waiting for me” sings M.C. Taylor on Hiss Golden Messenger’s “Saturday’s Song,” the first offering from the forthcoming album Lateness of Dancers. Stereogum premiered the track, calling it, "a simple song about the plight of the working stiff and the weekend’s elusive promise of release. Every time I hear it, I love it more.”

As previously announced, Lateness of Dancers is Hiss Golden Messenger's fifth studio album, out September 9 in the US and September 18 worldwide. The album was recorded outside of Hillsborough, North Carolina, and features Phil and Brad Cook, William Tyler, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, and Taylor’s longtime recording partner Scott Hirsch.
