We always love a good record release show, and this month's party with Spider Bags at The Pinhook was made even more special as the band performed their Merge debut Frozen Letter in its entirety. There's no better way to get to know Dan McGee & the guys than a show in a packed club on a Friday night. Watch the set below.

Get Frozen Letter on red vinyl or CD at your local record shop or in the Merge store now.

Listen to Spider Bags' Frozen Letter & watch a new live video!

Spider Bags' Merge debut Frozen Letter will be in stores next week, but the full album is now streaming at NPR Music.

In their description of the album, NPR writes:
What's made Spider Bags such a worthwhile band to follow, aside from peeling back scalps with blistering fuzz when they want to, is McGee's preternatural understanding of his niche. He writes songs that reach back to the canon but retain more personality than almost any in the garage spectrum, solely on his words and riffs, and he lands both with a lot of comfort and a little abrasion.

Visit NPR Music now to stream Frozen Letter and pre-order the album now on CD or LP in the Merge store.

Merge welcomes Spider Bags

We are pleased to announce that Chapel Hill’s Spider Bags has joined the Merge roster!

Spider Bags frontman Dan McGee writes: “On a bright clear day sometime in the near or distant future, Quetzalcoatl will come to Earth. Upon arrival, he will scorch a tract of barren land and draw a line in the ash with his terrible talon. On one side of the line he will place Merge; on the other, everything else. Those on the Merge side will then take hold of the mighty winged serpent’s scales and fly with him to live among the stars. They will know all the color and magic of existence, happy and free forever. Those on the other side? Well… we’re glad we’re with Merge.”
