Introducing Vertical Scratchers!

Merge is happy to announce the signing of Vertical Scratchers! The band was formed in a van in Los Angeles by John Schmersal, whom you may know from seeing Caribou live, his current band Crooks on Tape, and/or his former bands Enon and Brainiac, and Christian Beaulieu, the former leader of Triclops! and a current member of Peace Creep and Anywhere. Christian is “beyond stoked” to release a record on the same label that put out Verbena’s Souls for Sale album, and he’s also excited to be labelmates with fellow San Franciscan Mikal Cronin.   More >

Pre-order Arcade Fire's Reflektor now in the Merge store!

Arcade Fire shared "Reflektor," the first single from their forthcoming new album of the same name yesterday to much fanfare. Reflektor will be in stores on October 29, but the album is available now for pre-order on dbl-CD and dbl-LP in the Merge store along with a limited number of "Reflektor" 12-inches. The internet exploded as three very different and exciting videos appeared and the day ended with a 9PM premiere of "Reflektor" on radio stations around the world. Watch the official "Reflektor" video directed by Anton Corbijn.   More >

The Mountain Goats' All Hail West Texas is remastered, reissued and in stores now on CD, LP and digital. Pitchfork named the album "Best New Reissue" writing, "an imperfectly sung ode to all the songs that don’t get sung because of the people who put into the singers’ heads that the only songs worth singing are the perfect ones," while The A.V.
