Annie Hayden's second full length solo album, The Enemy of Love can be summed up in a phrase once coined by Time Out NY to describe Merge Records. Indeed, this record is the sound of "Indie Rock aging gracefully." Annie's current batch of songs arrives with fewer jagged edges than the music of her former band, Spent and includes a fantastic cover version of The Replacements' Swingin' Party. On The Enemy of Love Annie's voice is soft and lush and the primarily piano based tunes are steeped in gorgeous production courtesy of Glen Tarachow at the famous Kaufman Astoria Studios.
