Merge uses the USPS to ship all orders from the web store. All prices include the costs of shipping your package inside the United States. During checkout, you’ll have the option to upgrade to Priority mail if you need your order FAST. All orders shipping outside the United States are shipped via International First Class unless they are over 4 lbs, in which case they will ship via International Priority.
We provide tracking information for all orders within the United States. We’ll send you an email when your order ships. The email includes the delivery confirmation number, which can be used to track your package.
Once you place your order, you can expect it to ship in 1 – 3 days. From the time you place your order to the time it lands in your mailbox, we estimate:
Free shipping: 5-12 days
Priority Mail: 1-5 days
Ship times for international orders vary depending on the distance, though are typically between 1-4 weeks. Long distances and customs processing can slow down international shipping, so please have patience and trust that your package will arrive safely. If 8 weeks have passed since receipt of your shipping confirmation and you still haven’t received your package, let us know and we’ll work with you.
Unfortunately, tracking information is not available for international orders. We cannot track the progress of a package once it has left the US.
If you would like a shipping cost estimate for your international order, simply begin placing an order on the Merge store. At checkout, the store will calculate your exact shipping charge based on destination and package weight. You’ll have an opportunity to halt the transaction before it is finalized if you decide these shipping costs are too great.
Though we do our best to ship orders in a timely and secure manner, sometimes unexpected delays can occur. If your package hasn’t arrived and the listed, estimated delivery times have elapsed, please refer to your tracking information. If something looks funny, let us know. Please see the preorders information below if your order includes a preorder.
Merge Records cannot be held responsible for any orders lost by the postal service. However, we will do our best to ensure the happiness of our customers; if you suspect your order has been lost in transit, let us know and we’ll work with you.
We ship preorders to arrive on or around the release date. We can’t always predict how the USPS will route a package; sometimes delivery is delayed. You can refer to your shipping confirmation email to track the package in question.
If you preorder an album along with additional items, including other preorders with different release dates, those items may be held for the order to ship together. To avoid this, simply place separate orders for preorders.
Please email us with a description and, if possible, a photo of the item. We’ll provide further instructions at that time, but we will likely instruct you to send the original invoice, the defective item, and all original packaging to:

First register and create an account. Once registered, you can add entire albums or individual tracks to your cart, which can then be purchased via credit card.
Upon payment, your cart contents can be downloaded with the easy, one-step Merge Downloader, or one track at a time from within your browser.
Currently, the Merge Records Store only accepts Visa and MasterCard credit cards.
We use industry standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to insure safe transactions.
We apply a one-time $0.25 fee to each transaction, regardless of the number of tracks or albums you purchase. This fee covers the credit card processing fees, and enables us to keep our track prices low.
Merge offers the highest quality MP3s possible. They are encoded without DRM using the LAME version 3.97 encoder at non-variable rate of 320 kbps. At this quality level, the sound is essentially indistinguishable from a CD.
We also offer FLAC digital music files. FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec, an uncompressed audio format. As such, FLAC files provide a perfect digital copy of a given piece of music.
MP3s eliminate audio data in order to reduce file size. FLAC files are by definition 'lossless' and are a perfect digital copy of the original source material. Because of this, a FLAC audio file is much larger in size than an MP3 file. While FLAC audio is ideal if you listen to your music on a higher-end home stereo, or enjoy close-listening on headphones, it does not have as widespread playback support as the MP3 format.
*Note: FLAC files do not work in iTunes.
Downloading
Tracks can be downloaded individually or with the Merge Downloader software.
The Merge Downloader is not necessary to download music from the Merge Records Store. The software simply streamlines the download of multiple tracks, albums, and compilations into a single step.
If you would like to use your browser instead of the Merge Downloader to download your purchased music, select “Download with my Browser” on the “Transaction Complete” page. You will be directed to your “Download Purchase History” and will see a log of current and past purchased tracks. From this page, you can select which track from your log of purchases you would like your browser to download.
When you register for an account at Merge Records, you can opt to “Download using Download Manager” and install the Merge Downloader software. If you are already registered, you can access this option through your account profile.
While the Download Manager option is checked, the software application will handle downloads. To deactivate the Downloader, simply uncheck the downloader option.
MAC requires OSX version 10.3 or above. WINDOWS requires XP, Vista or Windows 7.
If anything goes wrong during your download, reattempt the download by logging into your account and navigating to your “Download Purchase History.” From this page, you will see a log of what you have purchased and can download again.
If you are still having problems downloading, contact support@mergerecords.com. Include your invoice number, your browser and operating system, and a description of your problem in the email. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
With many of our vinyl releases we include a coupon (Yes, an actual slip of paper inside the album packaging) with a unique code which will allow you to download a high quality MP3 version of the album you've purchased.
