Wye Oak's Shriek was released yesterday to enthusiastic reviews worldwide, and features on StereogumGrantland, and more.

"Shriek is more of a continuation than a disruption: It’s a product of the catalytic bond between Mr. Stack, on synthesizers and drum programming, and Ms. Wasner, on electric bass." —NY Times

"Despite its electronic emphasis, Shriek bypasses conventional synthpop for more introspective, individual territory." —Wondering Sound

"There's no question Wasner could make these songs work as big guitar anthems, but as skeletal, textured electronic tunes they really let the nuance of both her songwriting and her voice shine through." —Under The Radar

The A.V. Club premiered Wye Oak's new video for "Glory" today, check it out!

"Glory" was directed by Ashley North Compton and Michael Patrick O'Leary. Compton had this to say about the music video:

The video for Wye Oak's "Glory" explores an internal and external power struggle and a fear of loss of control—through the lens of youth, anxiety, ease and tension. The narrative follows youth-oriented themes, colors, styles and struggles with jarring and uncomfortable characters and movements.

The editing and format allow for notions and items to be broken and reformed, given and taken back. Feelings of impulsivity and unsettledness are evoked.
